I was introduced to the outdoor lifestyle at a very young age. My parents introduced me to fishing, hunting and camping and as I’ve grown up, being outdoors has always been a love, one that helps me clear my mind and center myself. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to realize how expensive outdoor gear can be and how quickly it can be be passed on for newer, fancier gear, even though the original still had plenty of life in it. In my case, I grew out of my gear every year. Sometimes after being worn or used just a few times. Once people move on from their used gear, it ends up in a closet or on a shelf in the garage. But there are lots of people who can still benefit from that used, high-quality gear that’s sitting in storage in the homes of people who enjoy the outdoors as much as I do. As I’ve traveled and spent time outdoors, I’ve realized that I’m fortunate to be able to be a part of nature and it’s made me want to give back. I’ve seen plastic in the ocean and gear that has lots of life left in it, sent to landfills and it made me want to do something about it. To help connect people who love nature, spend time in it, and want to conserve and protect our resources. By connecting them with an online marketplace where outdoor adventurers can pass their high-quality, used outdoor gear with those looking for an upgrade at a good price. All while helping to prevent gear from sitting in storage, being sent to a landfill or otherwise discarded, rather than being enjoyed by someone else. I’m Wyatt and I built Ecotrek Outfitters to connect buyers and sellers of outdoor gear and build a community of like-minded outdoor adventurers and give them a convenient, easy-to-use outlet to buy and sell outdoor gear and equipment online. I’m also committed to helping give back to the planet and to help conserve the natural resources that we all know and love. That’s why a portion of the proceeds from Ecotrek Outfitters is being donated to 4Ocean, to help remove plastics and other garbage from the world’s oceans. By repurposing our outdoor gear, ensuring we maximize the life of every piece of outdoor gear and removing plastics from the ocean, I am hoping we can work together to enjoy the outdoors while helping to make the planet a better, cleaner place to live.
